Cradled by Culture: The Journey of Humankind
The first transactional analysis conference in Africa -
Held at the Indaba Hotel, We are honored to have Nozizwe Madlala-Routledge MP as the opening speaker for our worldwide conference and hope that you will join us for what promises to be a stimulating address at the Thursday night conference opening celebration. For more information, see our biographies page.
The title of the conference relates not only to the importance of South Africa as the cradle of humankind but also refers to the influence of culture on the thoughts, feelings and behaviours as well as the physiological experiences of human beings. These can all be changed given the right conditions so that we can become "one" with each other and find the commonalities which would enable us to live in peace and cooperation together with our neighbours from all around the globe. This will be a world conference sponsored by the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA), the European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA) and the Western Pacific Association for Transactional Analysis (WPATA). It will thus be attended by people from all the continents of the world and we are hoping to have a large representation from South Africa and Africa. The material presented by certified Transactional Analysts is controlled by a stringent certification process. The organisations conduct workshops, conferences, etc. and the ITAA puts out a quarterly journal "The Transactional Analysis Journal" and the other organisations publish regular newsletters on what is going on in the TA world including interesting articles by members and letters to the editor. These are just some of the senior TA people from all fields who have already committed to making this a great conference: Richard Erskine, Trudi Newton, Pearl Drego, Servaas van Beekum, Elana Leigh, Gordon Law, Charlotte Sills, Bill Cornell, Abe Wagner, , and Gianpiero Petriglieri, Jean Illsley-Clarke , Maria Teresa Tosi, Vann Joines. Please come and join them, to present, to take your exam, to learn, to experience our wonderful international TA community and to be PRESENT at the first ever TA conference in AFRICA!
